I needed to do an urgent situation alternative a week ago. Unhealthy
battery was: 12vdc, 4 amplifier hour gell cell All I possibly could find
in your area was: 12vdc, 5 amplifier hour gell cell. The deep cycle batteries are similar aside from the amplifier hour rankings.
I do not *think* upgrading an amplifier hour ought to be an issue using this type of battery. Am I right?
A
rise like this will not hurt, except to require 25% additional time to
completely charge battery, and see that older backup supplies fully
charge in 8-12hours, while more recent ones need as much as two times
that point (appears to create batteries keep going longer). IOW a
reduced charging current will not hurt, and it is only if you change to a
much bigger battery that current may become lacking (vehicle batteries
are ranked for 60 amplifier hrs).
I have bought lead-acidity
batteries for many items (lantern, audio analyzer, security alarm), and
also have been pleased with CS3 batteries. My security alarm uses Energy
Sonic, but I'm not sure what that proves.
I purchase my UPSes at
yard sales. They are the cheapo consumer toys that went dead and were
left in the spare room a couple of more years. Batteries will always be
toast.
Energy around here rarely is out for over a second. Whether
it's out more than that, it's most likely destined to be out for over
an inexpensive UPS could handle. Current product is lower to 1 minute
run time. Should replace ups battery.
